The 9th Annual Taste of Eat Local was held on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at TCF Bank Stadium - Dairy Queen Room. Over 350 people attended the Taste and enjoyed great food prepared by the 13 member restaurants paired with either beer or wine.
Guests were also treated to some fantastic music provided by High and Mighty.

"It really was a great night, " said Eat Local Twin Cities, City Leader, John Ryan. Ryan added, "The food, drinks and music truly made for a fun night. It's nice to show our guests what we do well and have a band like High and Mighty to add to the fun.

In addition to the food and drink served by the Eat Local restaurants there was beer from Great Waters Brewing Company, wine sampling from Chateau St Michelle, cocktail sampling from Jim Beam and Prairie Organic Vodka & Gin and coffee from Morningstar Coffee.

Larry Silber from the Memorial Blood Center spoke to everyone about the work the Blood Center does and how Eat Local has supported that work for 10 years. Eat Local Minnesota has provided food for the Memorial Blood Center's annual fundraiser and and participates in their annual Pint for a Pint promotion. A portion of the night's proceeds go the Memorial Blood Center.

At the end of the night, the Best in Show was awarded to Woolley's. Guests voted on who they thought paired the best food and wine and declared Wooley's Brioche Bread Pudding and Chateau D'Oringnac Pineau de Charentes the winner.

All in all, it was a great night promoting eating at locally owned restaurants!

We have exciting news!

Starting on 5/22/14, the Twin Cities Originals (TCO) will become part of the National Eat Local program.

Don't worry - all the points and rewards you have accumulated over time will carry over to the new program. You just need to go into any participating Twin Cities Originals restaurant to get your new Eat Local card. You can then go on-line or call Eat Local (powered by PowerCard) to transfer your old TCO Rewards card to the new Eat Local card. We ask that you please pick up and transfer your card no later than August 1, 2014.

Why are we making this change?

We had the opportunity to associate ourselves with other locally owned restaurants throughout the country. Guests will now be able to use their Eat Local cards in the Twin Cities and 10 other cities in the United States. Currently, there are over 450 restaurants in Saint Louis, Kansas City, Charlotte, Louisville, College Station, Columbia, Cincinnati, Twin Cities, Tucson, and Phoenix. It was a chance we could not pass up. We hope that this move will allow us to gain even more local participating restaurants allowing our guests to use their points here and nationwide.

Plus, we're launching our new mobile app where you can track your points/rewards, find great local restaurants throughout the US and socialize with other local foodies. There is a new "Mobile Rewards" option as well, where customers can simply provide their phone number to earn points, rather than presenting the plastic rewards card.

So, how do you get started? Just stop into your favorite Twin Cities Originals restaurant and ask for an Eat Local card. You can then go on-line to or call PowerCard and have all your existing cardholder information, points, and rewards balances automatically transferred to the new Eat Local program. Soon, there will also be a way to link multiple cards to the same account.

There will no longer be any direct affiliation between the rewards program and the Twin Cities Originals. However, any restaurant will be able to answer any question you have. In the future, will be your main source for any questions, concerns or comments. If you have any more questions, contact our Customer Service Team at (877) 229-7299 and we'll be happy to help.
